MEET OUR MELBOURNE TEAM
Founder of TriChicks
Amy created TriChicks in 2015 and brings over 9 years of coaching and racing experience. She holds a BSc Exercise & Sports Science, a Graduate Diploma in Physical Education/Health and is a Development Triathlon Coach. In 2018, Amy was awarded Club Coach of the Year in Victoria. During her time as an athlete, she was named WA Triathlete of the Year in her Age Group for Short Course, qualified for both the Short and Long Course World Championships, and took out 2nd place in her first Ironman for her Age Group. Her mission is to help educate, empower and help women achieve their triathlon goals, and lower the barrier of entry for women to the sport.
Vanessa is a triathlon coach for TriChicks and former professional long-course triathlete. She has 10 years racing experience under her belt and during this time achieved a 3rd place finish in her division at the Ironman World Champs in Kona, Hawaii along with multiple top 10 finishes in half and full Iron-distance races as a professional. As a coach Vanessa is passionate about introducing women to a sport that is full of opportunity and self discovery and loves to help each athlete on their journey towards their goals.
Jess is a Triathlon Coach for TriChicks, as well as an athlete herself in the main squad. Jess is not only a fantastic triathlete herself, she also has a passion for women’s health, and getting women into the sport. She works full time as a physiotherapist, so is happy to offer injury advice and support to the TriChicks Tribe. She joined TriChicks at the start of 2017 after finding she couldn’t find any like-minded athletes at local clubs, and found the friendship and support at TriChicks was exactly what she was looking for.
Is one of the happiest people you will ever meet. She joined TriChicks 2 years ago as a complete beginner, and has gone from not being able to swim to qualifying for the World Champs for both Sprint Distance and Half Ironman events. Olivia is an all rounder within TriChicks, and her role is quite varied. Olivia organises the Beginner Clinics around Australia, and is also the Uniform Coordinator. If you are keen for some new TriChicks Kit, Olivia is your girl to get in touch with!
Stephanie Dunbar is a media professional with a love for triathlon. Steph has been with the squad since the start, and has recently completed her Ultra-marathon (gun!). Steph has also done her fair share of triathlons including a Ironman at Port Macquarie, and is the team’s biggest cheerleader. Steph is a regular contributor and sub editor for the TriChicks Hub, and writes some fantastic articles on all things in triathlon, particularly Taboo Topics.
Social Club Coordinator
Jess Hood (also known as Miss Butterfly) is our Social Club Coordinator. Each month Jess organises fantastic social events for TriChicks Members to attend including movie nights, quiz nights, dinners, karaoke, and not to mention our annual end of season awards nights! Jess also started TriChicks through our Beginner Course, and has had an incredible transformation since starting including running 3 Half Marathons in her first year of the sport!
