Equipment for Open Water Swimming

A list of equipment I recommend for training and racing in the open water

Women's P:2 Propel Wetsuit

Low Price Point! Having a good wetsuit is a key investment for triathlon. You don’t need one to get started however it’s a fantastic asset if you’re training or racing in colder water, or when doing longer distance events. They’re also a great tool for weaker swimmers as the buoyancy helps you maintain a higher body position in the water. Whilst they are a more expensive piece of equipment, they can last for years if you look after them!

R1 Goggle - ROKA Sports, Inc.

Having the right pair of goggles can make or break your swim session or race day experience. Having goggles that don’t fit your face are likely to result in them falling down, leaking, or being strapped to your face so tight you feel bruised afterwards! When completing a triathlon it’s also important to consider using goggles with some form of tinted lens, to ensure you can see where you are swimming regardless of the sun's position.
