Training with TriChicks in the highlight of my week. I am far from the typical athlete and it is such an accepting and encouraging club to train with. It’s a group of women that train and achieve goals and inspire and encourage others in the group to achieve their goals. You will always be welcomed in by everyone at TriChicks. When getting to squad isn’t possible the portal provides great online programs and information, meaning you can still follow training in your own time when needed. I would never have trained elsewhere as I felt intimidated by being slow, but the squad is always adapted to be customized to your ability. You will leave training on a high of achievement, exercise and laughter. I have completed sprint triathlons and am now training to complete Olympic distance and would never have attempted triathlons without the support of TriChicks!

I started with Trichicks in the beginner sprint program unable to swim 50m and with no road cycling experience, however, under the coaches guidance within the training program, and their sharing of first hand knowledge of event preparation, I was able to cross the finish line of a sprint distance triathlon, not something I imagined doing! Having access to the training program via the trichicks portal, allows you to prepare for the training session or complete in your own time if busy schedules clash. The portal has all the tips and training videos at your finger tips just like having a coach in your pocket! The support of the TriChicks is amazing, they are so inclusive and encouraging of everyone’s efforts and goals no matter how big or small, It’s a great community to belong to.

I had wanted to do a triathlon for a long time but kept putting it off because of the swim. Before starting the online course my freestyle was shocking! I could barely make it 50 metres before coughing and spluttering and giving up. When I went to the pool to complete session 1 I was pretty nervous but I was surprised with how well it went. The drills really helped break down the steps and having the videos to demonstrate was so helpful. Each session in the pool I had little wins and I felt my confidence (and enjoyment) improving. I loved the run and bike sessions too. They pushed me to work harder and it reflected in my results. After completing the course I entered into a sprint distance triathlon and managed to do freestyle for the whole 600m swim! I don't think the swim will ever be my favourite part of triathlon but it's certainly got a lot less scary since doing the course. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get into the sport.
