Essential Swimming Equipment

Here is a list of the essential swimming equipment you need to train for your triathlon.

Funkita Bathers

Funkita are my personal favourite brand of bathers. Comfy, stylish and won't slip off if you dive in the pool, or push off the wall (unlike a bikini).

FINIS Long Floating Fins

Using fins in training allows you to work on specific areas of your technique, which will make you move faster through the water even when you’re not wearing them. We recommend using the longer style of fins, as opposed to the shorter style. The shorter style are extremely rigid, which limits your ability to kick and they may be more likely to produce cramps as well. The longer style of fin is much more flexible, will produce more propulsion and will provide greater assistance when completing specific drills.

R1 Goggle - ROKA Sports, Inc.

Having the right pair of goggles can make or break your swim session or race day experience. Having goggles that don’t fit your face are likely to result in them falling down, leaking, or being strapped to your face so tight you feel bruised afterwards! When completing a triathlon it’s also important to consider using goggles with some form of tinted lens, to ensure you can see where you are swimming regardless of the sun's position.

Aqua Fitness, Pool Exercise, Kick and Pull Buoy, Swimming Kickboard, One Size Fits All, Swim Training Aid for Children and Adults

Get 2 in 1! Kickboards are typically used to immobilise the arms for kick sets, while Pull buoys are used to immobile the legs and to assist body position in the water. Instead of buying one of each, we recommend a two in one option like this one.
